LONDON falls to AURORA after surprising comebackKinsmen Arena-London Fri, Dec 20, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
AURORA climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat LONDON, 4-3. AURORA let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. AURORA took a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Emily Bondrager at 2:58 in the second period. AURORA went down 3-1 after LONDON's Courtney Simpson put the puck home at 14:46 in the third period. After tying things up at 3-3 on a goal by Reagan Fuller at 19:19 in the third, AURORA got the game-winner from Steffei Samuel at 19:29 in the third period. AURORA was paced by Samuel, who racked up one goal. AURORA additionally got points from Maresa Benacquista, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, AURORA received assists from Christine McCarthy, Adelle Proia, Maddison Lee, and Breanna Kenning, who contributed one a piece. LONDON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five AURORA power plays. LONDON forced AURORA goalie Nicholle Kovach to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.
