TORONTO squeaks by AURORA, 5-3

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, TORONTO escaped with a 5-3 victory over AURORA.

TORONTO gained the winning advantage on a goal by Amanda Pantaleo 12:34 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

TORONTO got the win behind a great game by Jessie Eldridge, who had two goals and one assist. Eldridge scored the first of her two goals at 11:32 into the first period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO. Jessica Gazzola provided the assist. Eldridge's next tally made the score 5-3 TORONTO with 4:21 left in the third period. Gazzola picked up the assist.

TORONTO pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

TORONTO forced AURORA goalie Taylor Lemmon to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots.

TORONTO also got points from Taytum Clairmont, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Loren Gabel also scored for TORONTO. More assists for TORONTO came via Lauren Wildfang, who had two and Breanne Wilson-Bennett and Connor Galway (PU), who each chipped in one.

AURORA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow TORONTO to score on any of its four power plays.

AURORA was helped by Maddison Lee, who registered one goal and one assist. Lee scored 8:44 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Emily Bondrager assisted on the tally. AURORA additionally got points from Maresa Benacquista, who also tallied one goal and one assist. AURORA also got a goal from Taylor McIntyre as well. Other players who recorded assists for AURORA were Breanna Kenning, who had one.

Ally Sarna recorded 17 saves for TORONTO. Lemmon rejected 28 shots on goal for AURORA. AURORA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
