SOUTHWEST relied on the scoring touch of Jordyn Wade, who netted two goals, to beat LEASIDE, 3-0. Wade found the back of the net 3:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 SOUTHWEST and again while 8:08 into the third to make the score 3-0 SOUTHWEST.SOUTHWEST put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow LEASIDE to score on any of its four power plays. SOUTHWEST's defensive play was more effective than usual against LEASIDE. SOUTHWEST allows 2.9 goals per game. LEASIDE was unable to stop SOUTHWEST from sending pucks towards the net, and SOUTHWEST eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. SOUTHWEST outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, SOUTHWEST averages 0.9 goals per contest. Muna Fadel also scored for SOUTHWEST. In addition, SOUTHWEST received assists from Amy Maitre, who had two and Amanda Purdie, Celine Frappier, and Sara Mayrand (PU), who contributed one a piece. LEASIDE was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes. Hanna Slater recorded 16 saves for SOUTHWEST. SOUTHWEST incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. LEASIDE's Karen Morenz stopped 34 shots out of the 37 that she faced.
