SOUTHWEST downs BARRIE in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

SOUTHWEST's Ashley Maitre scored 2:38 into overtime to beat BARRIE, 3-2 (OT).

Lauren Hughes had two goals to lead SOUTHWEST to victory. Hughes found the back of the net 1:31 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 19:49 into the third to make the score 2-2.

SOUTHWEST kept BARRIE's goalie busy throughout the game, and Alexx Ridding made 37 saves on 40 shots. SOUTHWEST's goal total was higher than its season average. SOUTHWEST averages 0.9 goals per game.

In addition, SOUTHWEST received assists from Amy Maitre, Celine Frappier, Muna Fadel, and Merritt Makaric, who each chipped in one.

BARRIE was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 24 penalty minutes.

BARRIE was led by Becca Chilvers, who had one goal and one assist. Chilvers scored 4:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 BARRIE. Chelsea Tucker provided the assist. BARRIE also got a goal from Sara Corcoran as well.

Hanna Slater rejected 14 shots on goal for SOUTHWEST. SOUTHWEST incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. BARRIE registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
