LONDON penalty kill dominates in 2-1 defeat of KINGSTONKinsmen Arena-London Fri, Nov 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
LONDON's penalty kill was superb, as LONDON survived multiple penalties to beat KINGSTON, 2-1. LONDON was paced by Alyssa Simpson, who had one goal. Simpson scored 16:31 into the third period to make the score 2-1 LONDON. Michaeline Falla (C) provided the assist. LONDON put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow KINGSTON to score on any of its nine power plays. KINGSTON was unable to stop LONDON from sending pucks towards the net, and LONDON eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. LONDON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. LONDON also got a goal from April Clark as well. More assists for LONDON came via Emma Forcey, Kiernyn Campbell, and Kaylie Dennis (A), who each chipped in one. KINGSTON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine LONDON power plays. KINGSTON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. KINGSTON was led by Brianna Gaffney, who scored the team's only goal. Gaffney scored 12:28 into the second period to make the score 1-0 KINGSTON. Kassi Welch made 24 saves for LONDON on 25 shots. Elizabeth Spinozzi rejected 29 shots on goal for KINGSTON.
