BURLINGTON and SOUTHWEST could not crack each other's defense, and the teams skated to a scoreless tie. BURLINGTON's defensive play was more effective than usual against SOUTHWEST. BURLINGTON allows 2.1 goals per game. SOUTHWEST was unable to stop BURLINGTON from sending pucks towards the net, and BURLINGTON eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. SOUTHWEST put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BURLINGTON to score on any of its three power plays. Kyra OBrien made 26 saves for BURLINGTON on 26 shots. BURLINGTON incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. SOUTHWEST's Kayla Loberg stopped 37 shots out of the 37 that she faced.
