Sullivan lifts WHITBY over DURHAM WEST, 7-2

Megan Sullivan was all over the ice for WHITBY, as she tallied two goals in WHITBY's 7-2 win over DURHAM WEST.

Sullivan's tallies came at 12:08 into the second period to make the score 3-1 WHITBY and 3:49 into the third to make the score 4-2 WHITBY.

WHITBY forced DURHAM WEST's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 33 shots and forcing 26 saves. Stephanie Sluys made 15 stops and Melissa Black made 11. WHITBY's goal total was higher than its season average. WHITBY has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign. WHITBY found itself short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays.

DURHAM WEST got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. DURHAM WEST's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as DURHAM WEST finished with 16 penalty minutes.

DURHAM WEST was helped by Megan Quinn, who tallied one goal. Quinn scored 1:25 into the second period to make the score 1-0 DURHAM WEST. Samantha McKenzie picked up the assist.
