NEPEAN shrugs off penalties, upends CAMBRIDGE, 4-1Preston Memorial Auditorium Fri, Nov 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
NEPEAN's penalty kill was superb, as NEPEAN survived multiple penalties to beat CAMBRIDGE, 4-1. NEPEAN was led by Jenna MacDonald, who finished with one goal and one assist. MacDonald scored 10:07 into the second period to make the score 2-0 NEPEAN. Sophie Contant assisted on the tally. NEPEAN's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven CAMBRIDGE power plays. Others who scored for NEPEAN included Shana Alexander, Alyssa Baker, and Addi Halladay, who scored one goal each. In addition, NEPEAN received assists from Katryne Villeneuve, who had two and Sam Cogan, Alison MacKenzie, and Nicole Halladay (PU), who contributed one a piece. CAMBRIDGE could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. CAMBRIDGE was led by Miranda Lantz, who scored the team's only goal. Lantz scored 2:27 into the third period to make the score 2-1 NEPEAN. Emma Davidson provided the assist. Megan Halhed made 22 saves for NEPEAN on 23 shots. NEPEAN incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Julia Vandyk rejected 23 shots on goal for CAMBRIDGE.
