BURLINGTON beats AURORA 4-3 after comeback scare

BURLINGTON survived a determined comeback attempt by AURORA on the way to a 4-3 win.

BURLINGTON made the score 4-2 on a goal by Jessie Rietveld at 13:51 in the third period, and AURORA got as close as 4-3 when Christine McCarthy scored 17:05 into the third period.

BURLINGTON was led by Rietveld, who racked up one goal.

BURLINGTON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four AURORA power plays. BURLINGTON's offense rang up 31 shots on AURORA's net.

BURLINGTON also got points from Logan Boyd, who also registered one goal and one assist and Logan Land, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. BURLINGTON also got a goal from Tayor Reichheld (PU) as well. Other players who recorded assists for BURLINGTON were Kate Randazzo, Megan Delay, Hayley McCalllum, and Jessica Cutting, who each chipped in one.

BURLINGTON was unable to stop AURORA from sending pucks towards the net, and AURORA eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

AURORA was helped by Maddison Lee, who tallied one goal. Lee scored 2:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 AURORA. Shayla Hele picked up the assist. AURORA additionally got points from Maresa Benacquista, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for AURORA came via Brittany Kucera (C) and Madison Miller (PU), who contributed one a piece.

Kyra OBrien rejected 31 shots on goal for BURLINGTON. BURLINGTON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. AURORA's Taylor Lemmon stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that she faced. AURORA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
