WHITBY's Rae (PU) deadly on offense in 6-1 win against WATERLOO

Katelyn Rae (PU) was all over the ice for WHITBY, as she tallied two goals in WHITBY's 6-1 win over WATERLOO.

Rae (PU) scored at 4:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 WHITBY and again while 8:53 into the first to make the score 2-1 WHITBY.

WHITBY made WATERLOO's goaltenders to work without much rest, taking 42 shots and forcing 36 saves. Shea Tiley made 16 stops and Cohen Myers made 20. WHITBY put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WATERLOO to score on any of its four power plays. WHITBY surpassed its usual scoring output this season. WHITBY has scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

WHITBY also got points from Madison Badeau, who also had one goal and one assist. WHITBY also had goals scored by Jamie Grigsby (PU), who had one and Rhyen McGill, who had two. Other players who recorded assists for WHITBY were Megan Sullivan, Emily Volpe (PU), Hailey Noronha, Megan Picco (PU), and Lauren Williams, who each chipped in one and Alana Sims (PU) and Cassidy Vinkle, who contributed three a piece.

WATERLOO stifled WHITBY's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. WATERLOO's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. WATERLOO is averaging 2.2 goals against for the season.

WATERLOO was led by Mary Worndl, who scored the team's only goal. Worndl scored 5:17 into the first period to make the score 1-1.

Kassidy Sauve made 19 saves for WHITBY on 20 shots. WHITBY incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. WATERLOO incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
