WHITBY squeaks by KINGSTON, 4-2Iroquois - Rink#3 - Volkswagen Sat, Oct 26, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, WHITBY escaped with a 4-2 victory over KINGSTON. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Emily Volpe (PU) secured the win for WHITBY with a goal in the third period. WHITBY was led by Volpe (PU), who registered one goal. Volpe (PU) scored 1:17 into the third period to make the score 3-2 WHITBY. CJ Tipping provided the assist. KINGSTON was unable to stop WHITBY from sending pucks towards the net, and WHITBY eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. WHITBY also got points from Madison Badeau, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Hailey Noronha, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cassidy Vinkle also scored for WHITBY. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Jamie Fox (PU) and Lauren Williams, who contributed one a piece. WHITBY's defense shut down KINGSTON's forwards for much of the game, and KINGSTON got off only 14 shots during the contest. KINGSTON was helped by Natalie Graham (PU), who tallied one goal. Graham (PU) scored 6:48 into the first period to make the score 1-0 KINGSTON. Logan Conger picked up the assist. KINGSTON also got a goal from Jaclyn Bastedo as well. More assists for KINGSTON came via Kailey Peirson and Ebony Drummond-Walsh, who each chipped in one. WHITBY's Taylor Sutherland (PU) stopped 12 shots out of the 14 that she faced. WHITBY incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Elizabeth Spinozzi rejected 35 shots on goal for KINGSTON. KINGSTON incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
