STONEY CREEK outlasts WHITBY, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, STONEY CREEK escaped with a 3-2 victory over WHITBY.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Madison Field (A)home) secured the win for STONEY CREEK with a goal in the third period.

STONEY CREEK was led by Field (A)home), who grabbed one goal. Field (A)home) scored 8:13 into the third period to make the score 3-2 STONEY CREEK. Nicole Collier picked up the assist.

STONEY CREEK additionally got points from Sarah Quaranta (A)home), who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. STONEY CREEK also got a goal from Rachel Smith (PU) as well. More assists for STONEY CREEK came via Paige Jackson (PU), Sara Habal, Rosie Heffernan, and Melissa Millar, who contributed one a piece.

STONEY CREEK was unable to stop WHITBY from sending pucks towards the net, and WHITBY eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. WHITBY could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

WHITBY was helped by Hailey Noronha, who finished with one goal. Noronha scored 12:03 into the first period to make the score 2-1 WHITBY. Kirsten Welsh provided the assist. Madison Badeau also scored for WHITBY. In addition, WHITBY received assists from Katelyn Rae (PU), Cassidy Vinkle, and Lauren Williams, who each chipped in one.

Sarah McDonnell recorded 30 saves for STONEY CREEK. STONEY CREEK incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. WHITBY's Hannah Baker stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that she faced. WHITBY registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
