WHITBY's Madison Badeau had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in her team's 7-2 win over LEASIDE. Badeau beat Karly Stratos with a shot 2:19 into the first period to make the score 3-0 WHITBY. Katelyn Rae (PU) provided the assist. Badeau dished an assist on Hailey Noronha's goal that made the score 1-0 WHITBY at 13 seconds into the first period. He added another helper on Kirsten Welsh's goal that made the score 5-1 WHITBY at 10:30 into the first period.WHITBY's penalty kill excelled, as WHITBY gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. WHITBY made LEASIDE's goalies to work in net, getting 38 shots and forcing 31 saves. Stratos made 13 stops and Emma Balazsi (PU) made 18. WHITBY stifled LEASIDE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. WHITBY surpassed its usual scoring output this season. WHITBY has scored at the pace of 4.2 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. WHITBY was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 16 penalty minutes. WHITBY additionally got points from Noronha, who also had one goal and one assist. WHITBY also had goals scored by Jamie Grigsby (PU), who had two and Briana Colangelo (PU) and Cassidy Vinkle, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for WHITBY were Jamie Fox (PU), Alana Sims (PU), and CJ Tipping, who contributed one a piece and Emily Volpe (PU) and Rhyen McGill, who each chipped in two.
