BURLINGTON hangs on, beats ETOBICOKE 2-0

BURLINGTON took the lead against ETOBICOKE in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-0 victory.

Logan Boyd provided BURLINGTON with the game-winning tally when she scored 1:24 into the the first period. Megan Delay provided the assist.

BURLINGTON's penalty kill excelled, as BURLINGTON gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

BURLINGTON was led by Boyd, who finished with one goal.

BURLINGTON stifled ETOBICOKE's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. BURLINGTON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Shana Toale also scored for BURLINGTON. In addition, BURLINGTON received assists from Darcy Henderson, Tayor Reichheld (PU), and Maggie Spratt-Mallick, who contributed one a piece.

ETOBICOKE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BURLINGTON to score on any of its six power plays.

Kyra OBrien made 23 saves for BURLINGTON on 23 shots. Sarah Jamieson recorded 21 saves for ETOBICOKE. ETOBICOKE incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. ETOBICOKE ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Julia Parente was ejected from the game.
