TORONTO squeaks by STONEY CREEK, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, TORONTO escaped with a 4-2 victory over STONEY CREEK.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Sarah Knee at 9:59 of the second period.

STONEY CREEK's power play was ineffective against TORONTO's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

TORONTO was led by Knee, who grabbed one goal.

TORONTO was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 22 penalty minutes.

TORONTO also got points from Taytum Clairmont, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Amanda Pantaleo, who also registered one goal and one assist. Jessie Eldridge also scored for TORONTO. Other players who recorded assists for TORONTO were Lauren Wildfang, who had two and Julia Fedeski and Breanne Wilson-Bennett, who contributed one a piece.

STONEY CREEK was helped by Kristin ONeill, who tallied one goal. ONeill scored 5:05 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Rosie Heffernan picked up the assist. STONEY CREEK also got a goal from Rachel Smith (PU) as well. In addition, STONEY CREEK received assists from Nicole Collier, who had one.

TORONTO's Brynna Kerr stopped 15 shots out of the 17 that she faced. TORONTO registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Taylor Cook made 24 saves for STONEY CREEK on 28 shots. STONEY CREEK incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
