King's goals lift Gillette to 5-2 victory over BozemanHaynes Pavillion Sat, Oct 19, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Alex King had two goals to lead the Gillette Wild to a 5-2 victory over the Bozeman Icedogs. King found the back of the net on the power play 11:25 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Gillette and again while short handed 19:41 into the second to make the score 4-2 Gillette.Bozeman's 10 penalties came back to haunt it, as the Icedogs let up four goals while on the penalty kill. Gillette forced Icedogs' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 34 shots and forcing 29 saves. Chance Turner made 20 stops and Zach Skop made nine. The Wild outdid their season average for goals scored. Gillette has scored at the pace of 2.7 goals per game during the current campaign. The Wild struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 30 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays. Gillette additionally got points from Andrii Istominov, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Gillette also got a goal from Dalton McCann as well. Other players who recorded assists for Gillette were Greg Sauers, who had two and Will Fobair, Moco Willis, Tj Mcminn, and Jonathan Kasdorf, who each chipped in one. Bozeman was led by Gunnar Mogck, who grabbed two goals. Mogck scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 2:37 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Gillette. The Icedogs had gotten the advantage when Gillette's McCann was sent off for holding. Kegan Couture picked up the assist. Mogck's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Gillette with 2:06 left in the second period. Sean Kelley recorded 28 saves for the Wild. Bozeman incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
