Mississippi RiverKings outlasts Columbus, 3-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Mississippi RiverKings escaped with a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Cottonmouths.

Mississippi RiverKings gained the winning advantage on a goal by Matt Harrington 9:58 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

Mississippi RiverKings was paced by Harrington, who racked up one goal.

Mississippi RiverKings relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Devin Mantha, Harrington and Ryan Marcuz took 14 of the team's 25 shots.

Mississippi RiverKings also had goals scored by Todd Hosmer and Sean Jones, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Mississippi RiverKings were Mike Hayward, Paul Clancy, and Andrew Randazzo, who contributed one each.

Columbus was led by Jordan Draper, who registered one goal and one assist. Draper scored 6:39 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Matt Gingera provided the assist. Sam Bowles also scored for Columbus.

Matthew Krahn recorded 20 saves for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Cottonmouths' Andrew Loewen stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. Columbus incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
