Knoxville beats Bloomington 5-0 as Hince gains shutout

Bryan Hince recorded a shutout against the Bloomington Thunder as the Knoxville Ice Bears picked up a 5-0 win.

Knoxville was sparked by Eric Satim, who registered one goal. Satim scored 10:08 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Knoxville. Francis Drolet provided the assist.

The the Ice Bears penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Knoxville surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. The Ice Bears put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bloomington to score on any of its four power plays. Knoxville featured an improved defense during the game. The Ice Bears gives up 2.8 goals on average per game. Knoxville's goal total was higher than its season average. This season, the Ice Bears average 2.8 goals per contest. Knoxville relied heavily on its defensemen to assist its forwards, and the blueliners responded by scoring two goals on 13 shots. The 32 shots that the Ice Bears put on net surpassed Knoxville's average of 25.0 shots per game this season.

Knoxville additionally got points from Jason Price, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Jon Higgins, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Knoxville also had goals scored by Brad Pawlowski and David Segal, who each put in one. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Brady Vandenberk, who had two and Mark Van Vliet and Ben Souders, who each chipped in one.
