Mississippi RiverKings survived a determined comeback attempt by the Columbus Cottonmouths on the way to a 4-2 win. Mississippi RiverKings made the score 4-0 on a goal by Sean Jones at 7:19 in the third period, and Columbus got as close as 4-2 when Mike Switzer scored 17:40 into the third period. Mississippi RiverKings' penalty kill excelled, as Mississippi RiverKings gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. With 39 shots on target during the contest, Mississippi RiverKings exceeded the 27.1 shots it averages per game this year. Mississippi RiverKings also got points from Devin Mantha, who also registered one goal and one assist. Todd Hosmer also scored for Mississippi RiverKings. In addition, Mississippi RiverKings received assists from Burke Gallimore and Daniel Sobotka, who contributed one a piece and Matt Whitehead and Matt Harrington, who each chipped in two.
