Larsen's hat trick boosts Peoria over Huntsville, 5-2

A hat trick by Taylor Larsen was the highlight in Rivermen's 5-2 win against the Huntsville Havoc.

Larsen got on the scoresheet 12:30 into the first period. He then added goals at 14:29 into the second and at 19:17 into the second.

The Peoria Rivermen's penalty kill excelled, as Peoria gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Rivermen's offense was clicking better than usual and put 39 shots on goal during the game, better than the 28.5 shots per game they average.

Others who scored for Peoria included Matt Viola and Steve Morra, who each put in one. More assists for Peoria came via Corey Tamblyn, who had two and Cole Ruwe, Adam Feniak, Nick Prockow, Jarrett Rush, Joe Schiller, Parker Stanfield, Garrett Vermeersch, and Eric Levine, who contributed one a piece.

Huntsville's offense rang up 32 shots on Peoria's net.

The Havoc were helped by Stuart Stefan, who tallied one goal. Stefan scored on the power play 11:17 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Huntsville had taken the advantage when the Rivermen's Larsen got sent off for boarding. Huntsville also got a goal from Leland Fidler as well. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Dominic Osman and Mike Gurtler, who each chipped in one.

Peoria's Levine stopped 30 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Rivermen incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Jesse Kallechy rejected 34 shots on goal for the Havoc. Huntsville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
