Knoxville hangs on, beats Mississippi RiverKings 3-1Landers Center Sat, Nov 30, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Eric Satim scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Knoxville Ice Bears held off the challenges of Mississippi RiverKings in a tough 3-1 win. Satim provided Knoxville with the game-winning tally when he scored 16:32 into the the first period. Francis Drolet provided the assist.The Ice Bears were led by goalie Bryan Hince, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Hince certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.71 entering the contest. Knoxville was led by Satim, who registered one goal. The Ice Bears put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Mississippi RiverKings to score on any of its three power plays. Knoxville also had goals scored by Phil Bronner and Jon Higgins, who each put in one. In addition, Knoxville received assists from Ben Power, Brett Valliquette, and David Segal, who contributed one a piece. Mississippi RiverKings relied on a core group of players for most of its offense, as Matt Harrington, Leo Thomas and Daniel Sobotka took 20 of the team's 36 shots. Mississippi RiverKings was led by Todd Hosmer, who scored the team's only goal. Hosmer scored 10:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mississippi RiverKings. Mike Grace picked up the assist. Knoxville totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Dan McWhinney rejected 27 shots on goal for Mississippi RiverKings. Mississippi RiverKings ended with seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major. |
