Knoxville falls to Pensacola in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Donnie Harris gave the Pensacola Ice Flyers a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Knoxville Ice Bears when he scored 3:34 into the extra period.

Although Pensacola was up by as many as two goals in the third period, Knoxville kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Ice Bears pulled to within 3-2 on a goal by Cody Dion at 12:25 in the third period.

The Ice Flyers were led by Harris, who registered one goal.

Pensacola got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. By firing 40 shots on goal, the Ice Flyers exceeded the 32.9 shots they average per game this year.

Pensacola additionally got points from Joe Caveney, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Steve Whitely also scored for Pensacola. In addition, Pensacola received assists from Matt Smyth, who had two and Harry Radovich, Joshua Turnbull, Shaun Arvai, and Ryan Salvis, who each chipped in one.

Knoxville's offense rang up 46 shots on Pensacola's net.

The Ice Bears were led by Francis Drolet, who had one goal and one assist. Drolet scored 8:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Pensacola. Dion picked up the assist. Knoxville also got points from Dion, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Knoxville also got a goal from Ben Power as well. Other players who recorded assists for Knoxville were Jeremy Klaver, Mark Van Vliet, and Phil Bronner, who contributed one a piece.

Peter Di Salvo recorded 43 saves for the Ice Flyers. Pensacola incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Bryan Hince made 36 saves for Knoxville on 40 shots. The Ice Bears incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
