Britton leads Kincardine over Mitchell, 8-2

Cody Britton was all over the ice for the Kincardine Bulldogs, as he tallied two goals and three assists in Kincardine's 8-2 win over the Mitchell Hawks.

Britton found the back of the net 5:01 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Kincardine and again while on the power play 8:53 into the second to make the score 4-0 Kincardine.

The Bulldogs made Mitchell's netminders to work in net, racking up 33 shots and forcing 25 saves. Chris Wallace made 19 stops and Tyler MacGregor made six. Kincardine put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hawks to score on any of their five power plays. The Bulldogs bested their season scoring average. This season, Kincardine averages 4.2 goals per contest.

Kincardine also got points from Brett Catto, who also registered two goals and one assist and Colin Whitfield, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Kincardine included Gerritt Satosek, Jamie Miller, and Tanner Simpson, who each put in one. More assists for Kincardine came via Sam Feagan, who had two and Chad Simpson, Carter Strachan, Matt Baker, Dalton Hnatko, Mike Smailes, and Lucas Johnson, who each chipped in one.

Mitchell kept the Bulldogs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Mitch Campbell made 38 saves on 40 shots.

Mitchell also had goals scored by Zane Walkom and Jalen Aitcheson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Mitchell received assists from Jerry Ennet, Brett Stacey, and Ryan Sykes, who contributed one a piece.

Kincardine incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hawks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
