Huber's big game bests Kincardine in 8-0 Wingham winDavidson Sun, Dec 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Wingham Ironmen's Jamie Huber had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 8-0 win over the Kincardine Bulldogs. Huber scored on the power play 6:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wingham. Wingham had gotten the advantage when Kincardine's Mike Smailes was sent off for tripping. Brett Brophy picked up the assist. Huber dished an assist on Matt McCracken's goal that made the score 4-0 Wingham at 13:04 into the first period. He added another helper on McCracken's goal that made the score 5-0 Wingham at 5:00 into the second period.The Ironmen made Bulldogs' goaltenders to work in net, launching 42 shots and forcing 34 saves. Paul Boyadadin made 23 stops and Tyler MacGregor made 11. Wingham found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Ironmen have scored at the pace of 5.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Wingham's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in four goals. Wingham also got points from Brophy, who also had two goals and one assist and Aaron Armstrong, who also registered one goal and two assists. Wingham also had goals scored by Keaton Willis and Greg Scott, who each put in one. In addition, Wingham received assists from Blake Pickering, Carter Stewart, and Jeremy Ross, who contributed one a piece. The Bulldogs were held below their usual level of production. Kincardine averages 4.2 goals per game. Jaden Shrier rejected 22 shots on goal for the Ironmen. Wingham incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Bulldogs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
