Kincardine beats Mount Forest 7-4 as Britton gets hat trick

Cody Britton lifted the Kincardine Bulldogs to a 7-4 victory with a hat trick against the Mount Forest Patriots.

Britton's first goal came 8:57 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:10 into the third and at 10:37 into the third.

Kincardine's penalty kill excelled, as the Bulldogs gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays.

Kincardine forced Mount Forest goalie Kyle Poole to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. The Bulldogs surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Kincardine has scored at the pace of 4.3 goals per game during the current campaign.

Kincardine also got points from Shawn Moore, who also tallied one goal and three assists, Brett Catto, who also registered one goal and four assists, and Tanner Simpson, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Kincardine also got a goal from Brandon Priestap as well. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Matt Baker, who had one and Carter Strachan, who had two.

The Patriots' offense rang up 50 shots on the Bulldogs' net.

Mount Forest was helped by Shawn Lantz, who grabbed one goal. Lantz scored 8:24 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Kyle Hunter provided the assist. Doug Costanzo also scored for Mount Forest. More assists for Mount Forest came via Luke Richardson, Mitch Betts, and Dean Nixon, who contributed one a piece.

Paul Boyadadin recorded 46 saves for Kincardine. The Bulldogs incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Patriots' Poole stopped 41 shots out of the 47 that he faced. Mount Forest incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
