Scott's hat trick boosts Hanover over Mount Forest, 6-3P and H Centre Fri, Dec 13, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Mount Forest Patriots could not stop the Hanover Barons' Andrew Scott, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-3 win. Scott notched his first tally 18:24 into the first period. He then added goals at 4:39 into the second and at 12:19 into the third.Hanover excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Barons kept Mount Forest's goalie busy throughout the game, and Kyle Poole made 30 saves on 36 shots. Hanover found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Barons average 3.2 goals per game. Hanover also got points from Garrett Weigel, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Justin Graham, who also had one goal and two assists, and Tyson Soers, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Hanover were Denver Hill, who had three and Chris Hardy, Drew Quinlan, Brandon Eagles, and Josh Steffler, who contributed one a piece. Hanover was unable to stop the Patriots from sending pucks towards the net, and Mount Forest eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. The Patriots were helped by Ben Davis, who registered one goal. Davis scored 10:33 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Hanover. Trevor Hughson provided the assist. Mount Forest also had goals scored by Justin Graham and Doug Ardis, who each put in one. In addition, Mount Forest received assists from Keenan Maclean-Hill, Cody Wright, and Dean Nixon, who each chipped in one. Ben Errington made 28 saves for the Barons on 31 shots. Hanover incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mount Forest incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
