Hanover uses early goal to top Kincardine, 4-2Western Jr. C Sat, Nov 30, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Justin Graham gave the Hanover Barons the lead in the first period, and the Kincardine Bulldogs was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 4-2. Hanover took over the lead for good with a goal by Graham at 8:53 in the first period. Brad Piit assisted on the tally.Drew Quinlan had a great game for the Barons, netting two goals. Quinlan scored at 7:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hanover and again while 13:04 into the first to make the score 3-1 Hanover. Hanover stifled Kincardine's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Hanover also got a goal from Brandon Eagles as well. In addition, Hanover received assists from Brodie Lemay, Denver Hill, Ryne Weppler, and Wendel Cameron, who each chipped in one. The Bulldogs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Barons to score on any of their four power plays. Kincardine kept Hanover's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cam Harron made 39 saves on 41 shots. The Bulldogs were led by Cody Britton, who tallied one goal and one assist. Britton scored 8:31 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Brett Catto picked up the assist. Brandon Priestap also scored for Kincardine. Other players who recorded assists for Kincardine were Mike Smailes, who had one. The Barons incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hanover ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cameron was ejected from the game. Mitch Campbell made 18 saves for Kincardine on 21 shots. The Bulldogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
