Weppler nets hat trick, leads Hanover to 6-5 win over WalkertonP and H Centre Fri, Nov 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
A hat trick by Ryne Weppler was the highlight in Barons' 6-5 win against the Walkerton Hawks. Weppler's first goal came 9:36 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:48 into the third and at 16:18 into the third.The Hanover Barons' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Walkerton power plays. Hanover's offense rang up 38 shots on Walkerton's net. The Barons found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Hanover has scored at the pace of 3.2 goals per game during the current campaign. Hanover additionally got points from Denver Hill, who also had one goal and one assist. Brandon Eagles also scored for Hanover. In addition, Hanover received assists from Wendel Cameron, who had one, Jarrett Kuntz, who had three, and Garrett Weigel and Tyson Soers, who each chipped in two. The Hawks kept the Barons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Cam Harron made 38 saves on 43 shots. The defensemen of Walkerton were also effective in Hanover's zone, and came away with two goals. The Hawks were helped by Josh Perdue, who tallied one goal. Perdue scored 3:23 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Walkerton. Brendan Welsh(AP) assisted on the tally. Walkerton also got points from Welsh(AP), who also racked up one goal and one assist and Drew Davidson, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Walkerton also had goals scored by Joel Bowman and David Gallo, who scored one goal each. More assists for Walkerton came via Jordan Turcotte and Jay Thomson, who contributed one a piece. The Barons incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Trevor Fleming rejected 32 shots on goal for Walkerton. The Hawks incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For Walkerton, Bowman was ejected from the game.
