Bowman lifts Walkerton over Kincardine, 5-2Davidson Sun, Nov 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Joel Bowman had two goals to lead the Walkerton Hawks to a 5-2 victory over the Kincardine Bulldogs. Bowman's tallies came at 12:11 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Walkerton and 9:51 into the second to make the score 4-1 Walkerton.Walkerton stifled Kincardine's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The defensemen of the Hawks were also effective in the Bulldogs' zone, and came away with two goals. Jay Thomson also scored for Walkerton. More assists for Walkerton came via David Gallo, who had one and Jordan Turcotte and Brett Coulson, who each chipped in two. Kincardine's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Walkerton power plays. Walkerton was unable to stop the Bulldogs from sending pucks towards the net, and Kincardine eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. The Bulldogs were helped by Tanner Simpson, who tallied one goal. Simpson scored 3:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Dave Mercer picked up the assist. Kincardine also got a goal from Paul Lamont as well. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Mike Smailes and Sam Feagan, who contributed one a piece. Adam Kalbfleisch recorded 39 saves for the Hawks. Walkerton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mitch Campbell made 20 saves for Kincardine on 25 shots. The Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
