Hanover completes comeback, beats Mount Forest, 7-6

The Hanover Barons climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Mount Forest Patriots, 7-6.

Hanover never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Barons was down 6-3 after a short handed goal by Mount Forest's Doug Ardis at 17:34 in the second period. Hanover tied things up at 6-6 on a goal by Justin Graham at 5:56 in the third period. The Barons netted the game winner at 16:52 in the third period on a goal by Graham.

Brandon Eagles was all over the ice for Hanover, as he tallied one goal and three assists in the win.

The Barons made the Patriots' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 47 shots and forcing 40 saves. John Nixon made 10 stops and Kyle Poole made 30. Hanover excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Barons' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Hanover averages 3.1 goals per contest.

Hanover also got points from Graham, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Andrew Scott, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Jarrett Kuntz, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Hanover also had goals scored by Garrett Weigel, who had one and Ryne Weppler, who had two. More assists for Hanover came via Travis Sweeney, Chris Hardy, and Tyson Soers, who each chipped in one.

Mount Forest forced Barons' goalies to work without much rest, totaling 36 shots and forcing 30 saves. Cam Harron made 30 stops and Ben Errington made zero. The Patriots found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Mount Forest has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

The Patriots were helped by Cody Wright, who registered one goal and two assists. Wright scored short handed 16:18 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Mount Forest. Mount Forest found itself down a man on Matt Marshall's butt-ending. Mount Forest additionally got points from Ardis, who also had two goals and one assist. Mount Forest also got a goal from Luke Richardson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mount Forest were Justin Graham, who had two and Devin Williams and Doug Costanzo, who contributed one a piece.

The Barons incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Patriots incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
