Walkerton downs Kincardine, 5-2Walkerton Community Centre Fri, Nov 15, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Brooks Nelthorpe finished with two points to lead the Walkerton Hawks to a 5-2 victory over the Kincardine Bulldogs. Walkerton forced Kincardine's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, finishing with 44 shots and forcing 39 saves. Tyler MacGregor made 28 stops and Mitch Campbell made 11. Walkerton additionally got points from Calvin Penney, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Walkerton also got a goal from Drew Davidson as well. More assists for Walkerton came via Lauchlin Elder, who had two and Nathan Kramer, Joel Bowman, and Austin Russell, who contributed one a piece. The Bulldogs put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hawks to score on any of their three power plays. Kincardine was held below its usual level of production. The Bulldogs put an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. Kincardine's offense rang up 34 shots on Walkerton's net. The Bulldogs were helped by Brock Pinnell, who had one goal. Pinnell scored on the power play 2:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kincardine. Kincardine had gotten the advantage when the Hawks' Josh Perdue was sent off for cross checking. Cody Britton assisted on the tally. Ethan Skinner(AP) also scored for Kincardine. In addition, Kincardine received assists from Sam Feagan, who had one. Adam Kalbfleisch recorded 32 saves for Walkerton. The Hawks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Bulldogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
