The Mitchell Hawks relied on the scoring touch of Travis Knight, who netted two goals, to beat the Kincardine Bulldogs, 5-2. Knight scored at 3:35 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 16:32 into the second to make the score 3-1 Mitchell.Mitchell forced Kincardine's goalies to work between the pipes, finishing with 39 shots and forcing 34 saves. Mitch Campbell made 24 stops and Tyler MacGregor made 10. The Hawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Mitchell also got points from Tyler Pauli, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mitchell also got a goal from Zach Goodhew as well. More assists for Mitchell came via Wil Marcy, Jalen Aitcheson, Joe Gioia, Scott Fries, and Luke Fraser, who contributed one a piece and Greg Orr and Zane Walkom, who each chipped in two. The Bulldogs' offense operated below they season average. Kincardine averages 4.2 goals per game. The Bulldogs forced Mitchell goalie Ben Nelson to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Kincardine found itself short handed often, totaling 40 penalty minutes and allowing 11 power plays. The Bulldogs were helped by Cody Britton, who had one goal. Britton scored 3:16 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kincardine. Paul Lamont assisted on the tally. Luke Czuczman also scored for Kincardine. Other players who recorded assists for Kincardine were Sam Feagan, who had one. Nelson recorded 36 saves for the Hawks. Mitchell incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
