The Wingham Ironmen relied on the scoring touch of Aaron Armstrong, who netted four goals, to beat the Mitchell Hawks, 6-4.

Armstrong got on the scoresheet 8:54 into the second period. He then added goals at 9:39 into the second, at 10:35 into the second, and at 19:25 into the third.

Wingham's offense rang up 37 shots on Mitchell's net.

Wingham also got points from Ryan McNeil, who also finished with one goal and three assists to lead the team in points. Ryan Stulp also scored for Wingham. Other players who recorded assists for Wingham were Brett Brophy and Keaton Willis, who contributed one a piece and Darren Kerr and Jamie Huber, who each chipped in two.

The Hawks forced the Ironmen's netminders to work all game long, taking 41 shots and forcing 37 saves. Nathan Watson made 25 stops and Jaden Shrier made 12.

Mitchell was helped by Travis Knight, who registered one goal. Knight scored 17 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Mitchell. Scott Fries picked up the assist. Mitchell additionally got points from Greg Orr, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Mitchell also got a goal from Joe Gioia as well.
