Behind a great game by Ben Davis, who had four goals and one assist, the Mount Forest Patriots defeated the Hanover Barons, 8-4. Davis got on the scoresheet 3:27 into the first period. He then added goals at 18:05 into the first, at 18:06 into the second, and at 14:34 into the third.Mount Forest's penalty kill excelled, as the Patriots gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Mount Forest stifled Hanover's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Patriots' offense rang up 47 shots on the Barons' net. Mount Forest found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Patriots have scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign. Mount Forest also got points from Justin Graham, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Devin Williams, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Mount Forest also got a goal from Luke Richardson as well. In addition, Mount Forest received assists from Josh Hoffele and Doug Costanzo, who each chipped in one and Doug Ardis and Dean Nixon, who contributed two a piece. Hanover kept Mount Forest's goalie busy throughout the game, and Cole Wardlaw made 29 saves on 33 shots. The Barons were helped by Justin Graham, who tallied two goals. Graham scored the first of his two goals at 3:43 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Mount Forest. Brodie Lemay provided the assist. Graham's next tally made the score 5-3 Mount Forest with 7:27 left in the second period. Drew Quinlan assisted on the tally. Jarrett Kuntz also scored for Hanover. More assists for Hanover came via Denver Hill and Brad McNeil-Smith, who each chipped in one. The Patriots incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Hanover's Ben Errington stopped 39 shots out of the 47 that he faced. The Barons incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For Hanover, Drew Wood was ejected from the game.
