Rae's hat trick boosts Mitchell over Hanover, 5-3

The Hanover Barons could not stop the Mitchell Hawks' Brent Rae, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-3 win.

Rae's first goal came 7:28 into the second period. He then added goals at 5:54 into the third and at 17:42 into the third.

Hanover was unable to stop Mitchell from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hawks eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

Mitchell also got a goal from Scott Fries as well. Other players who recorded assists for Mitchell were Zach Goodhew, Ethen Adair, Dylan Bedard, Tyler Pauli, and Travis Knight, who each chipped in one and Tyler Tolton and Jalen Aitcheson, who contributed two a piece.

The Barons could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

Hanover was helped by Tyson Soers, who grabbed one goal. Soers scored 16:13 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Andrew Scott assisted on the tally. Chris Hardy also scored for Hanover. More assists for Hanover came via Tanner Bastien, who had two.

Ben Nelson rejected 26 shots on goal for Mitchell. The Hawks incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Ben Errington made 30 saves for the Barons on 35 shots. Hanover registered two goals on six power play opportunities. For the Barons, Scott was ejected from the game.
