Huge game by Kestner boosts Sarnia over Waterloo, 4-0Seymour - Hannah Rink 4 Sat, Oct 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Josh Kestner was all over the ice for the Sarnia Legionnaires, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Sarnia's 4-0 win over the Waterloo Siskins. Kestner's tallies came on the power play at 24 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Sarnia and 4:09 into the second to make the score 2-0 Sarnia.The Legionnaires were boosted by Sean Parker, who turned in a shutout with 45 saves. The solid play of Parker will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 3.69. Sarnia's penalty kill excelled, as the Legionnaires gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Sarnia stifled Waterloo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Sarnia also got points from Davis Boyer, who also had one goal and one assist. Sarnia also got a goal from Riley Roberts as well. Other players who recorded assists for Sarnia were Nathan Mater, who had one and Riley Babkirk, who had three. The Siskins did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Waterloo averages 3.6 goals per game. The Siskins' offense rang up 45 shots on the Legionnaires' net. Sarnia incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Leo Lazarev recorded 21 saves for Waterloo. The Siskins ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. Team's Travis Harvey and Michael Mantenuto were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
