Simcoe falls apart in second, loses to Dundas, 9-2

The Dundas Blues scored four goals in the second period to pull away from the Simcoe Storm and clinch a 9-2 win.

Cam McConnell had a great game for Dundas, netting four goals. McConnell notched his first tally 12:40 into the second period. He then added goals at 17:56 into the second, at 24 seconds into the third, and at 5:17 into the third.

The Blues forced Simcoe's goaltenders to work between the pipes, launching 37 shots and forcing 28 saves. Tim Porter made eight stops and Avery Allen made 20. Dundas bested its season scoring average. The Blues average 3.6 goals per game.

Dundas also got points from Kevin Jaczenko, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Matt Johnson, who also had one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Dundas included Alex Panov, Alex Aquin, and Braxton Andrews, who each put in one. In addition, Dundas received assists from Cody Carey, who had two, Brayden Knott, who had three, and Garret Incze, Elijah Williams, and Andrew Wooning, who each chipped in one.

Dundas was unable to stop the Storm from sending pucks towards the net, and Simcoe eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Brock Novak made 35 saves for the Blues on 37 shots. Dundas incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. The Storm totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-2 on the power play. For Simcoe, Conner Robinson was ejected from the game.
