Huge game by Boyd boosts Hagersville over Glanbrook, 6-3

Aleck Boyd had one goal and two assists to lead the Hagersville Hawks to a 6-3 victory over the Glanbrook Rangers.

Boyd got on the board by slotting home a goal 5:49 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Hagersville. Daniel Medeiros assisted on the tally. Boyd dished an assist on Medeiros' goal that made the score 5-2 Hagersville at 13:57 into the third period. He added another helper on Zach Maciel's goal that made the score 6-2 Hagersville at 15:13 into the third period.

Hagersville's offense rang up 32 shots on Glanbrook's net.

Hagersville additionally got points from Brad Hornby, who also had one goal and one assist, Medeiros, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Derek Medeiros, who also had one goal and two assists. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Derek Low and Cole Martin, who contributed one a piece and Mitch Green and Hayden Baird, who each chipped in two.

The Rangers forced the Hawks goalie Ian Sylves to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots. Glanbrook could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Rangers were helped by Brad Parish, who registered one goal and one assist. Parish scored on the power play 5:01 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Hagersville. Glanbrook had gained a power play chance when Jake McLay was whistled for interference. Jay Creen picked up the assist. Glanbrook also got points from Curtis Edwards, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Derek Vanenberg also scored for Glanbrook. More assists for Glanbrook came via Anthony Whitwell and Derek Goodwin, who contributed one a piece.

Sylves rejected 35 shots on goal for Hagersville. The Hawks incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Tom Acciaroli made 26 saves for the Rangers on 32 shots. Glanbrook registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Rangers, Kyle Dumais and Chadd Edwards were ejected from the contest.
