Springer's big game bests Glanbrook in 6-2 Dunnville winDunnville Memorial Arena Fri, Jan 10, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Dunnville Jr. Mudcats' Chad Springer had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 6-2 win over the Glanbrook Rangers. Springer scored at 4:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Dunnville and again while 15:36 into the second to make the score 5-1 Dunnville.Dunnville's penalty kill excelled, as the Jr. Mudcats gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays. Dunnville stifled Glanbrook's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Mudcats forced the Rangers goalie Matthew Venturelli to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Dunnville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. Dunnville also got points from Mack Steele, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Dunnville also had goals scored by Steven Czepek, Luke Stevens, and Landon Minor, who scored one goal each. In addition, Dunnville received assists from Matt Potter, Tyler Springer, and Dan Arrowsmith, who contributed one a piece and Ryan Hannigan, Davis Hart, and Luke Rowe, who each chipped in two. Glanbrook kept the Jr. Mudcats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Josh Rosettani made 30 saves on 32 shots. The Rangers were led by Curtis Edwards, who racked up one goal and one assist. Edwards scored short handed 12:37 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Dunnville. Glanbrook played down a man on Buddy MacLean's roughing. Drew Jedrzejewicz provided the assist. Glanbrook also got a goal from Keifer MacInness as well. Other players who recorded assists for Glanbrook were Chadd Edwards, who had one. Dunnville registered two goals on four power play opportunities. The Rangers' Venturelli stopped 31 shots out of the 37 that he faced. Glanbrook incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
