Hagersville completes comeback, beats Dundas, 6-4

The Dundas Blues could not hold down the Hagersville Hawks, and Hawks erased a three-goal deficit en route to a 6-4 win.

Hagersville never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Hawks fell behind 4-1 after a power play goal by Dundas' Cam McConnell at 5:33 in the third period. Hagersville tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Cole Martin at 19:07 in the third period. The Hawks scored the game winner at 19:30 in the third period on a goal by Martin.

Mitch Green was all over the ice for Hagersville, as he tallied two goals and three assists in the win. Green scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 12:07 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Dundas. The Hawks had taken the advantage when the Blues' Cody Carey got sent off for slashing. Derek Friesen provided the assist. Green's next tally on the power play made the score 6-4 Hagersville with five seconds left in the third period. Martin assisted on the tally.

Hagersville kept Dundas' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brock Novak made 27 saves on 33 shots.

Hagersville additionally got points from Friesen, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Martin, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Aleck Boyd also scored for Hagersville. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Brad Hornby, who had three and Daniel Medeiros and Derek Medeiros, who contributed one a piece.

The Blues forced the Hawks goalie Mulligan Eric to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots.

Dundas also got points from Kevin Jaczenko, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Andrew Wooning, who had one and Braxton Andrews, who had three.

Eric rejected 27 shots on goal for Hagersville. The Hawks totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Dundas incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
