Dundas' Aquin deadly on offense in 4-1 win against Simcoe

Alex Aquin had two goals to lead the Dundas Blues to a 4-1 victory over the Simcoe Storm.

Aquin found the back of the net 6:03 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Dundas and again while 16:37 into the second to make the score 2-0 Dundas.

Simcoe was stymied by Dundas netminder Brock Novak, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. Novak certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.14 entering the contest.

The Blues' penalty kill excelled, as Dundas gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

The Blues' offense rang up 40 shots on the Storm's net. Dundas' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Dundas also had goals scored by Ryan Kapuscinski and Thomas Dowling, who each put in one. More assists for Dundas came via Garret Incze, Cam McConnell, and Brayden Knott, who each chipped in one and Cosimo Amore and Matt Johnson, who contributed two a piece.

Simcoe could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Storm put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

Simcoe was led by Joel Potruff, who scored the team's only goal. Potruff scored on the power play 11:29 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Dundas. A tripping penalty on Matt Tate had put the Storm on the power play. Austin Richardson picked up the assist.

The Blues incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Tim Porter recorded 36 saves for Simcoe. The Storm incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
