Hagersville beats Simcoe 6-0 as Murphy gains shutout

Matt Murphy made 39 saves to complete the shutout and led the Hagersville Hawks to a 6-0 win against the Simcoe Storm.

Hagersville was led by Derek Medeiros, who finished with one goal. Medeiros scored 34 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hagersville. Daniel Medeiros assisted on the tally.

The Hawks kept Simcoe's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tim Porter made 28 saves on 34 shots.

Hagersville additionally got points from Brad Hornby, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Mitch Green, who also grabbed two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, and Medeiros, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Jake Reichheld also scored for Hagersville. More assists for Hagersville came via Kyle Phibbs, Derek Friesen, and Austin Dezeeuw, who contributed one a piece.

The Storm's offense operated below they season average. Simcoe averages 3.5 goals per game. Hagersville was unable to stop the Storm from sending pucks towards the net, and Simcoe eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.
