Dunnville uses fast start to beat Dundas, 6-1

A five-goal first period deficit cost the Dundas Blues, which could not recover and fell to the Dunnville Jr. Mudcats, 6-1.

Dundas was stymied by Dunnville netminder Josh Rosettani, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. Rosettani managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.36 prior to the game.

The Jr. Mudcats were led by Landon Minor, who had one goal and one assist. Minor scored 4:55 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dunnville. Jeff May picked up the assist.

Dunnville made the Blues' netminders to work in net, firing 35 shots and forcing 29 saves. Brock Novak made 28 stops and Dan Davies made one. The Jr. Mudcats bested their season scoring average. This season, Dunnville averages 3.9 goals per contest.

Dunnville also got points from Bret Golding, who also registered two goals and one assist and Chad Springer, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Dunnville also got a goal from Steven Czepek as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dunnville were Luke Stevens, who had three.

Dundas did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Blues average 3.6 goals per game.

Alex Aquin also scored for Dundas. More assists for Dundas came via Jason Campbell and Tyler Jones, who each chipped in one.
