The Simcoe Storm gutted out a close 5-4 win against the Glanbrook Rangers. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Conner Robinson secured the win for Simcoe with a goal in the third period. The Storm pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 22 penalty minutes. In a losing effort, Glanbrook was led by Brad Parish, who registered two goals. Parish scored the first of his two goals at 3:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Glanbrook. Drew Jedrzejewicz provided the assist. Parish's next tally made the score 2-1 Glanbrook with 19:43 left in the second period. Curtis Edwards picked up the assist. Simcoe excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Rangers were unable to stop the Storm from sending pucks towards the net, and Simcoe eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Simcoe additionally got points from Braden Roberts, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Simcoe also had goals scored by Joel Potruff, Jamie Kelly, and Austin Richardson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Simcoe came via Dan Stewart and Braedan Walker, who contributed one a piece. Glanbrook forced the Storm goalie Avery Allen to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Others who scored for Glanbrook included Chris Haigh and Cole Anderson, who each put in one. In addition, Glanbrook received assists from Brandon Elliot, who had one. Simcoe's Allen stopped 41 shots out of the 45 that he faced. The Storm registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Matthew Venturelli made 27 saves for the Rangers on 32 shots. Glanbrook ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. The Rangers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Buddy MacLean was ejected from the game.
