Hagersville shrugs off penalties, upends Glanbrook, 5-2

The Glanbrook Rangers failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Hagersville Hawks shook off a number of penalties to win, 5-2.

Hagersville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Glanbrook power plays. Glanbrook was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Hagersville eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.

The Hawks were led by Aleck Boyd, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Boyd scored 15:33 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Hagersville. Kyle Phibbs assisted on the tally. Hagersville additionally got points from Derek Medeiros, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Eric Drehmer also scored for Hagersville. In addition, Hagersville received assists from Cole Martin, who had one and Daniel Medeiros, who had two.

The Rangers were led by Malcom Toman, who finished with one goal. Toman scored 12:23 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Hagersville. Kyle Dumais picked up the assist. Glanbrook also got a goal from Cole Anderson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Glanbrook were Chris Haigh, who had one.

Tim Porter recorded 27 saves for Hagersville. The Hawks incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For Hagersville, Nick Sherwood was ejected from the game. Matt Sagrott made 27 saves for Glanbrook on 32 shots. The Rangers incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
