Kolodzey nets hat trick, leads Grimsby to 7-1 win over Port Dover

A hat trick by Andrew Kolodzey was the highlight in Peach Kings' 7-1 win against the Port Dover Sailors.

Kolodzey notched his first tally 8:19 into the second period. He then added goals at 1:20 into the third and at 19:50 into the third.

The Grimsby Peach Kings put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Port Dover to score on any of its five power plays. Grimsby found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Peach Kings average 3.9 goals per game.

Grimsby also had goals scored by Cooper Naugoris, who had one and Colin Wierts, who had three. More assists for Grimsby came via Nicholas Purves, Jordan McCarl, and Brennan Smith, who contributed one a piece and Jarrod Peacock and Nicholas Briggs, who each chipped in two.

The Sailors excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances.

Port Dover was led by Reilly Wilson, who scored the team's only goal. Wilson scored 1:06 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Dover. Anthony Perrodou assisted on the tally.

Josh Asterino made 19 saves for Grimsby on 20 shots. The Peach Kings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Nathan McKinnon rejected 23 shots on goal for the Sailors. Port Dover incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
