Prokes lifts Dorchester over North Middlesex, 2-0

Behind a great game by Tommy Prokes, who had two goals, the Dorchester Dolphins defeated the North Middlesex Stars, 2-0.

Prokes scored on the power play at 36 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-0 Dorchester and again while on the power play 8:56 into the second to make the score 2-0 Dorchester.

Dorchester pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 24 penalty minutes.

The Dolphins put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow North Middlesex to score on any of its eight power plays. Dorchester did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Dolphins average 5.4 goals per game. Dorchester was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Dolphins allow 2.3 goals per game. Dorchester kept the Stars' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Foster made 36 saves on 38 shots. The defensemen of the Dolphins were also effective in North Middlesex's zone, and came away with two goals.

In addition, Dorchester received assists from Liam Gillooly, who had two and Patrick Freel and Gus Ford, who each chipped in one.

Colton James recorded 23 saves for Dorchester. The Dolphins registered two goals on four power play opportunities. The Stars incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
