Lucan beats Mt.Brydges 5-3 as Beaumont gets hat trick

A hat trick by Zach Beaumont was the highlight in Irish's 5-3 win against the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs.

Beaumont notched his first tally 4:37 into the third period. He then added goals at 17:38 into the third and at 19:59 into the third.

The Lucan Irish's penalty kill excelled, as Lucan gave up one goal despite allowing nine power plays.

The Irish's offense rang up 49 shots on Mt.Brydges' net. Lucan was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 26 penalty minutes.

Lucan also had goals scored by Jordan Vanderwel and Andrew Purdom, who each put in one. In addition, Lucan received assists from Nathan Marcil, who had two and Jamie Brzozowski, Dylan Murray, and Andrew Reichert, who each chipped in one.

The Bulldogs were helped by Cole Chilvers, who registered one goal. Chilvers scored 6:53 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Lucan. Grant Johns picked up the assist. Mt.Brydges also got points from Johns, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Robert McTaggart also scored for Mt.Brydges. More assists for Mt.Brydges came via Billy Morris, Cameron Dewan, Andrew Smith (APM), Mike Frizzell, and Trevor Smith, who contributed one a piece.

Andrew Gantner recorded 25 saves for the Irish. Lucan registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Mt.Brydges' Andrew Harrimand-Duke stopped 44 shots out of the 48 that he faced. The Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
