Early goals doom Thamesford, falls to Dorchester, 10-4

The Dorchester Dolphins jumped out to a five-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Thamesford Trojans, 10-4.

Gus Ford had two goals and one assist to lead Dorchester. Ford scored the first of his two goals at 2:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Dorchester. Shayne Rhyno provided the assist. Ford's next tally made the score 4-1 Dorchester with 11:28 left in the first period. The Dolphins had taken the advantage when Thamesford's Fabio Galante got sent off for hooking. Cale Duberry picked up the assist.

Dorchester made Trojans' goalies to work between the pipes, launching 46 shots and forcing 36 saves. Alex Hutcheson made eight stops and Jake Fonti made 28. The Dolphins bested their season scoring average. Dorchester averages 5.4 goals per game.

Dorchester additionally got points from Liam Gillooly, who also racked up one goal and two assists, Dylan Salter, who also had one goal and one assist, Duberry, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Ben Lawton, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Dorchester included Tyler Vere, Chad Brulotte, and Brendon O Shaughnessy, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Bryan McCauley, who had two and Matt Ross, Jordan Fuller, Tyler Blue, and Connor Lovell, who contributed one a piece.

The Trojans forced the Dolphins goalie Craig Wood to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots.

Thamesford was helped by Andrew McLennan, who racked up one goal. McLennan scored on the power play 7:13 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Dorchester. The Trojans had gained a power play chance when Vere was whistled for high sticking. Kyle Walker assisted on the tally. Thamesford also got points from Adam Levine, who also had two goals and one assist. Marcus Gverzdys also scored for Thamesford. More assists for Thamesford came via Brad Chambers and Avery Antone, who each chipped in one.

Craig Wood made 39 saves for Dorchester on 43 shots. The Dolphins incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Thamesford incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
