Aylmer blows out Lambeth, 5-2

The Lambeth Lancers had trouble finding ways to stop the Aylmer Spitfires, which beat Lancers, 5-2.

Aylmer's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Lambeth power plays.

The Spitfires were helped by Will Goodhue, who grabbed one goal. Goodhue scored 12:39 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Aylmer. Clint Walker picked up the assist. Aylmer also got points from Brad Payne, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Aylmer also had goals scored by Cameron Mancini, Trevor Stewart, and Matthew Reese, who scored one goal each. In addition, Aylmer received assists from Mitch Roloson, Mark Edmonds, Mark Macpherson, Cody Underhill, and Eric Nemeth, who contributed one a piece.

Lambeth did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Lancers put an average of 5.0 pucks into the net per game. Lambeth's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. The Lancers average 2.1 goals allowed per game.

Lambeth was led by Trevor Daynes, who had one goal. Daynes scored 17:54 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Aylmer. Kale Corbeth assisted on the tally. Lambeth also got a goal from Matt Schurr as well. Other players who recorded assists for Lambeth were Keith Arnold, Nick North, and Jake Alkins, who each chipped in one.

Aylmer's Dan Black stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Spitfires totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 2-for-5 on the power play. For Aylmer, Josh Houston and Roloson were ejected from the contest. Jared Zavitz (APM) made 23 saves for the Lancers on 28 shots. Lambeth ended with 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors and two majors. Team's Cody Wuytenburg and Jordan Spavor were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
